    Studio Visit Publication

I'm excited to announce that my work will be published this spring in Studio Visit. This catalog will be produced by the publishers of the popular New American Paintings magazine.

The layout is being finalized now, but look for a two page spread of my work. I'll post more details as they become available.

20th Annual Art Evening & Auction
    Cascade AIDS Project
    Oregon Convention Center, Portland, OR
    April 18, 2009

The Cascade AIDS Project's 20th Annual Art Evening & Auction draws out the very best of the Northwest: the most captivating art, most delicious food, and most fascinating people. Last year, guests -- from artists to socialites to politicians to drag queens -- put on their partying best to help stem the tide of HIV/AIDS. Created by the arts community who still remain the backbone of this event, this is the largest contemporary art auction in Portland. The evening will include a silent and live auction of over 200 juried artworks, live entertainment, exquisite food from the Northwest's premier chef's and libations.

2009 Guest Curator, Rock Hushka, is the Director of Curatorial Administration and Curator of Contemporary and Northwest Art at the Tacoma Art Museum and an Affiliate Assistant Professor at the University of Washington. Tickets are required.

    2009 Annual Encaustic Conference
    Beverly, Massachusetts
    June 9, 2009

I've been asked to teach a short demo and a full day workshop on Building the Surface with Stencils and Embossing at the Annual Encaustic Conference in Massachusetts this year. The demo is already full, but the post-conference workshop still has a few seats left. Find out how to register here, or visit my blog to view my impressions and photos from the various workshops, lectures and demonstrations we enjoyed in 2008.

    New Work
    Guardino Gallery
2939 NE Alberta St., Portland, OR
    November 2009

My work will be paired with that of ceramic sculptor Sara Swink of Clay Circle Studio for a show at Guardino Gallery next November (that's 2009). I've been a fan of Sara's for a long time so I'm thrilled to be showing with her.

    Chasing Time

My solo show at CUBE Gallery in Portland Oregon was called Chasing Time. It was the culmination of my Continuum series, which explores the connections between past and present and the passage of time.

    PULSE

PULSE is an annual event dedicated to funding the most promising clinical research that supports the lives of children with congenital heart defects. I was one of forty artists who worked side-by-side to create our art live in front of 300-400 art enthusiasts. Throughout the evening attendees enjoyed Portland's finest wine, hors d'oeuvres, and live music while bidding on these fresh new pieces of art. All proceeds went to The Children's Heart Foundation—Oregon Chapter. View photos from PULSE 2008.

    Portland Art Open

Portland Art Open was a three day art event & party showcasing the range of talents and styles of Portland's artists. Sites were dispersed throughout the city, but primarily close-in on both East and West sides. Free tour guides and information about each artist is still online at http://www.portlandartopen.com.
