    Poster Garden
    September 5 - 24

PosterGarden is a proud supporter of the Portland art community and they've invited me to show my work along with my friends and fellow encaustic painters Kimberly Kent and Serena Barton. We'll do a live demonstration of how to paint with hot wax during the opening reception on September 4. I hope you'll join us.

    Mad 50
    No Place Like Home
    September 8 - October 23

I've been invited back to create a second installation for Mad/50, an outdoor community art space at the corner of Madison and SE 50th in Portland. You may remember my last installation, The Key Project, from 2 years ago which received a lot of attention. This year the theme is "home" and I plan to take it to the limit. I've recently been focusing my work on the intersection of light and energy; time and space, so I guess the home I'll depict is our place in the universe and how these element intersect. Stop by this unique venue to see the finished product.

    Portland Art Open
    Friday, September 26 - 5:00 to 8:00 PM
    Saturday, September 27 – 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
    Sunday, September 28 - 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Portland Art Open is a three day art event & party showcasing the range of talents and styles of Portland's artists. It's your chance to experience art on the most personal level possible—see how each artist envisions their work in their own setting. Sites will be dispersed throughout the city, but primarily close-in on both East and West sides. Free tour guides and online information about each artist is available now at http://www.portlandartopen.com.

I will be showing at Milepost 5, the new creative community in SE Portland. Look for me in room #105 at Milepost 5, 900 NE 81st Avenue, Portland, OR (20 artists in one location!). I'll be painting most of the weekend. On Friday night there will be an opening party with wine, snacks and of course, lots of WAX! Please join me.

      PULSE
    November 8, 2008, 1 pm - 9 pm
    Staver Locomotive

PULSE is an annual event dedicated to funding the most promising clinical research that supports the lives of children with congenital heart defects. This year I will be one of thirty-five artists who will work side-by-side to create our own magnum opus live in front of 300-400 art enthusiasts. Throughout the evening attendees will enjoy Portland's finest wine, hors d'oeuvres, and live music while these fresh new pieces of work are sold in a silent auction. View photos from PULSE 2005.

I'm honored to be included in this group of artists chosen by Mark Woolley of the Mark Woolley Gallery in Portland. A seasoned art dealer for almost two decades, Mark has been on the leading edge of making Portland's visual arts scene. All proceeds will go to The Children's Heart Foundation—Oregon Chapter.

    Launch Pad Gallery
    Dream Show
    October 3 - 31

Nearly a third of your life is spent sleeping, inhabiting a world visible only to your mind's eye, bounded only by the firings of your synapses. Falling dreams; dream lovers; dreams of the dead; day dreams; dreams of glory; hopes & dreams; "I have a dream"; the surreal dream-like quality of life...What happens to a dream deferred? How different really is dreaming from being awake? Where do you go when you dream, and who do you become? Where does the dream end and reality begin? These themes will be explored by 100 artists in the Launch Pad Gallery annual Dream Show.
