    HGTV Segment for That's Clever!

The Home and Garden Television taping in April 2006 went really well and my segment finally premiered nearly a year later on March 26, 2007.

You can find the step-by-step instructions for how I create the work in my Tranquility series on the HGTV web site. I'm answering questions about the process on my blog, so if you can't find something please check there for answers. The piece I made on air is called Spring Bouquet (pictured below).

I'll also be teaching a class on how to use this technique with your own images. Check out my workshops page for more information.

    I'm Not Ready!
They showed up early (argh!) so they had to wait for my husband to finish ironing my shirt but it all worked out fine. It took over 6 hours to shoot a segment that will end up being about 7 minutes long, but they said that's pretty normal. As you can see, my real studio was too small so they had me set up in the living room.

I felt like I had to say everything 20 times, so I hope when you hear me say "I love beeswax!" I still sound believable. The crew was wonderful to work with—very fun and professional. My dogs even tried to get into the show, acting like perfect angels—but only while the camera's were rolling! It's all up to the editor now.
